Easy, Healthy Weeknight Dinners

We are heading back into the busy season. The Lazy Days of Summer are coming to an end, and are being replaced with sports, dance, homework and more! As we get back to our school year routines, we often find ourselves short on time and use that as an excuse to eat unhealthy. Sometimes we grab McDonalds for dinner because gymnastics ended at 6:00pm and we have nothing at home to eat. Other times we pick up a pizza, or throw some Kraft Mac N Cheese on the stove. None of these are bad every once in awhile but when we get in the habit of making these choices a couple of nights a week, we find ourselves falling into a pattern of poor nutrition and not feeling our best.

What if instead you had a handful of choices that took less than 30 minutes to get on the table, and they were family approved. Save these ideas for easy weeknight meals to continue fueling your body with healthy foods and feeling your BEST.

Easy Weeknight Dinner-Pasta and Meatballs

A family Favorite. Boil water for pasta and cook according to directions. Heat meatballs and Marinara. Combine and serve with a side salad. On your table in 30 minutes or less!

Chicken, Veggies and fruit make an easy dinner for the kids

This may be geared a bit more towards the kids in your life, but who doesn’t love a good chicken strip?! Throw both in the oven or air fryer to cook and serve with a side of fruit. SO much healthier than hitting Chick-fil-A and less expensive too!

If you love Chipotle, this is the perfect at home substitute! Talk about a QUICK healthy option. These bowls can be made with so many different options and customized for the kids too. On the table in 15 mins or less! No, I’m too busy to eat healthy excuses allowed here!

Did someone say pizza?! We love a build your own pizza night. You can grab any toppings you’d like, the kids have fun making their own pizzas, and we can sneak some veggies in there too!

Teriyaki Chicken Stir-Fry, Healthy quick meals

We love Chinese Takeout at our house, but I don’t want to eat the added sugars, bad seed oils and fried options (which are hard to say no to!). This is a delicious, EASY alternative that we all love! Chop up the chicken strips, steam the veggies and combine everything in your pan and you have a meal on the table in 10 minutes!

Getting a healthy meal on the table doesn’t have to take hours. In fact if it does, it isn’t made at my house-ha! I hope these ideas get you through those nights when you feel like the drive through is the only option. Keep these staples on hand, and you will always be prepared to make a nutritious meal for your family! You can feel good about that MAMA!
