How to Track Alcohol Macros!

Can you feel it?! Warm nights, music playing, kids laughing, vacay, BBQ going with friends and family all around?! It is almost summertime!! More time spent together can often mean more food and drinks too! I am all about a margarita on a hot summer night or relaxing by the pool! Who’s with me??


Life is to be lived and celebrated and when living the FASTer Way lifestyle you can still enjoy your favorite drinks while making progress toward your goals. Now, don’t get me wrong, alcohol slows down your fat burning because our bodies have to burn through the booze before they will get back to the fat burning job at hand. So while I don’t recommend drinking everyday (sorry babes), you can still enjoy a drink a few times a week and see results.

Let’s break down how we track alcohol, so you can fit your cocktails into your macros! Alcohol is the fourth macronutrient, along with carbohydrates, fat, and protein. The main difference between alcohol and the other macros is that alcohol is not essential. Because of this, food tracking apps don’t always account for it, even though we need to!

Since we have to burn alcohol before anything else, it’s important to track it correctly. It can take up to 24 hours to metabolize alcohol, so it puts burning fats on pause for that long as well!  Learning to track your alcohol macros is a bit tricky at first but my guide explains how to do it in an easy way!


Here are some of my favorite drinks to enjoy! I try to choose low carb, low-calorie drinks such as white wine spritzers, skinny margaritas, or vodka with seltzer and lime. You can choose any drink that you like, just be sure to track correctly!
